seeing through the eyes...

Last Sunday I was at a picnic with a group of wonderful 12th grade girls. We were sitting on the patio of a southern style plantation home. There was the kind of fine sunlight that only happens right after it rains and you think it's going to stay cold all day but then the pleasant surprise starts peaking out of some clouds. I ran back to the car to get my camera and when I returned a couple of the girls had begun a journey...I followed them through the wet grass and the property seemed to go on forever. Then, tucked away in a little corner, there was an overgrown garden with an occasional surprise flower. It was the kind of place where everything looked so peaceful and pretty even though it was mostly dead. I loved it. I took a ton of pictures of the four girls in the garden but I have just posted a few on here. I couldn't have asked for more...their smiles aren't the forced kind-they really do laugh and smile more than most people I know. So joyful.

The other pictures that I posted below are of my most patient subject. Kevin's life is becoming a series of photo shoots. Every time he does something that looks picture worthy I disappear, only to start shouting orders about looking natural and opening his baby blues a little bigger. He never gives me grief and is really quite the photographer himself. I think that's why he lets me interrupt his life for poses in special places. He was really just trying to play me a love song on the guitar (he was really rocking bon jovi) the other day when i started snapping. You can see them on the post before this. Hope you enjoy...
