all we need is love...

Happy Valentine's Day! I wrote in the post just before this [go check out mal and brooke, they're beautiful] that when i woke up this morning it was raining. It has been the most peaceful, calming weather all week and then on Valentine's Day it was pouring and gray...how ironic. It made me a little sad at first but then I loved it and I am going to tell you why. Valentine's Day is wonderful--a day to cherish the one you love. I love to love...everyone...so of course i think Valentine's Day is a nice gesture from the calendar, but I know the reason why it was raining today! We aren't supposed to cherish the ones we love one day a year! I think it was raining to remind me that today, February 14th, is just like every other day...sometimes dreary and cheerless at first sight, but still a day to celebrate the wonderful company that God has blessed us with. I think all of us should remember the way that February 14th makes us feel about the ones we love to squeeze, and then feel that way every day. So this post is a tribute to my Valentine...who is in Daytona. He does marketing for a race team so he is always gone on Valentine's Day at Daytona being a race geek with 93493485349 million other people. Last year he did a little sneaky move where he left a duffel bag full of "marketing brochures" in my car after I dropped him off at the airport. Later he asked if I could look in there for something, and I found 12 neon roses that were stuffed animals [plush would probably be the proper descriptive] from my favorite store--dollar general. This year he left a garbage bag that i wasn't allowed to open until the big day. So i waited...I love waiting...i almost waited til tomorrow just to have something to open tomorrow. Here is what I found:

a diddy bag full of candy and toys from my favorite store: dollar general!

?    i had to display a close up of "to-do tattoo." Kev, that's a little advanced for the dollar store-eh? Where did you find those...and can you buy me 37598574 more...how brilliant for people like me!

The tribute continues...not only should everyone know how creative Kev is but you should also know that he is simple [not simple like a dummy-he is content...and easily made happy] and interested--he wants to know everything about anything and he is one of the best listeners of all time. He is compassionate for the hurting and those with less, he is selfless, giving, willing, and brilliant. He makes jokes and doesn't laugh at himself--which happens to be my weakness...i think it's so funny. He is humble and in constant pursuit of making himself better. He is a hard worker and an optimist, and most important of all--He loves the Lord and seeks His will. He is the peanut butter to my jelly...for real..i sound like such a softy old smoosh head. He is organized and together and i am a huge mess--in every area. ok enough before people start throwing up. Here are some photos from the past couple years--most taken on Kev's point-and-shoot...another wonderful quality, he loves documenting..

below: two of my personal favorites..
